Sairam. ‘Saranagathi’ was the Sadhana for the 6th day of Navaratri on 20th October . The significance of surrender was stressed during the day. Each period started with a narration of a Divine incident from the lives of great saints. During the assembly, the primary students presented a thought-provoking skit about doing one’s duty as promised. The dance performance by the girl students received appreciation from all. Kuthuvilakku Puja (lamp worship) was performed by the Mahila staff and students during the evening assembly. As a part of the Navaratri Vaibhavam, the Thillaisthanm sisters (Sister Vardhini and Sister Varshini) presented a mellifluous carnatic duet in the evening. The presentation comprised of popular Carnatic pieces with vibrant Sai bhajans in between, which made everyone admire about their control over the art. It is to be noted here that one of the sisters is an alumnus of SSSIE who studied primary class during the early years of the school. The accompanists Brother Ganapathi on Mridangam and Brother Prashant on Kanjira, both of them were also alumni of SSSIE. After felicitation, the programme came to an end with Mangala Arathi and Prasadam distribution. Please find herewith the captured moments forwarded. Sairam.
