Sairam. On 23rd Nov, the birthday of Bhagawan, the celebration began with a grand procession carrying Swami’s picture on a palanquin with vibrant Veda Parayanam and soulful Swagatham singing. After the traditional ‘Jai Vijayee Bhava’ song offering, 98 lamps of love were lit by the students and the guests marking the glorious 98 years of Pure Love of Bhagawan in action, with the accompaniment of the mellifluous ‘Akhand Jyothi Jalao…’ song.
Correspondent Sri S.Loganathan delivered the welcome address. It was followed by an enchanting cultural programme presented by the students. The primary girl students presented ‘Happy birthday to you Sai Baba’ – dance performance which was perfectly synchronized. Then, a fine arts fusion programme entitled, ‘Baba Sai Baba…’ making a comparative note between Lord Sri Shirdi Sai Baba and Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba was offered. A skit entitled ‘Hands in the Society; Head in the Forest’ teaching how to be in the society as well as be connected with the Divine was presented. It was followed by a soulful offering of devotional songs by the senior students at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan.
After the cultural programmes, Guest of Honour Dr. Ram Sriram, Co-founder, Wings of Hope Charity, London, school well-wisher, addressed the students advising them to grab all the opportunities provided by the school to develop their EQ – Emotional Quotient which is very important than IQ – Intelligent Quotient in today’s competitive world. He admired the overwhelming development achieved by the school due to the dedication and hard work of the Management members and the teachers. It was followed by an inspiring talk by the Chief Guest of the day Dr. S. Rama Reddy, Dean, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai. In his address, he highlighted the importance of creative thinking to get success in life. He narrated the stories of Amazon, Kinley water etc. to think creatively and achieve greater success. He explained the story of Sri Padmapada, the disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and advised all to develop faith on the Guru which would get all the blessings showered. He appreciated the students for studying in a school that gives importance to spirituality and extra-curricular activities along with academics.
Students who won prizes in various outside competitions were given certificate and prizes and the best teacher awardees of the academic year 2023-24 Smt. N.Vedha Nayagi, Vice Principal, Smt. K.Poongothai, Primary Headmistress and Smt. L.Booma ,TGT (Mathematics) were felicitated by the School Educational advisor Smt. Uma Sivaraman (Deputy Commissioner (Retd.) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Ernakulam) during the occasion.
For the lord who is dancing in our hearts as our Hridaya Sai, Jhoola Seva was offered. Senior Principal Smt. Savithri Chandrasekaran proposed the vote of thanks. Director Sri P.Kumarasamy felicitated the guests with a memento. The programme concluded with Mangala Arathi and Prasadam Distribution. Sairam.
