Sri S. Loganathan, a mechanical engineer by profession, began his career as a Project Manager and Automation Expert at Balaji Oil & Black Carbon Pvt. Ltd., Pondicherry. Known for his unwavering sense of duty and resolute determination, he has been a pillar of support to Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare (SSSIE), serving as a dedicated volunteer for over 15 years. His contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s admirable growth and spiritual ethos.

Drawing from his own experience of hostel life, Sri Loganathan took charge of the SSSIE hostel as ‘Hostel-in-Charge’, where he focused not only on ensuring the availability of basic amenities but also on nurturing the character of the students. He instilled in them the values and philosophy of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, emphasizing discipline, humility, and service. With meticulous attention to detail, he identified and resolved longstanding issues in the hostel, offering practical and ideal solutions. His systematic approach to procurement and stock maintenance transformed the hostel canteen operations, streamlining processes and introducing sustainable systems.

A former state-level volleyball player, Sri Loganathan extended his passion for sports to the students by building a vibrant volleyball team at SSSIE, which went on to win accolades in various tournaments. His leadership style—marked by taking full responsibility and delivering results—earned him the trust of the Sai Educare Trust, which appointed him as a Trustee. His insightful suggestions and hands-on involvement significantly contributed to the school’s development.

A man of creative vision and a natural problem-solver, Sri Loganathan gradually expanded his Sai Seva to include the administrative domains of both the school and the hostel. He worked tirelessly to systematize operations, establishing clear procedures and protocols that enhanced the institution’s efficiency and accountability. Recognizing his selfless service and holistic approach, the Trust elevated him to the role of Deputy Correspondent.

Affectionately known to students as ‘DC Sir’, he became a mentor and counsellor, guiding them not only in academics but also in personal growth and behavior. His deep involvement in academic planning and student welfare, coupled with his successful execution of responsibilities under Swami’s Divine Direction, led to his appointment as the Correspondent of SSSIE.

In his current role, Sri Loganathan has championed decentralization, empowering the next generation of leaders to take charge and uphold the values of Sai education. Today, under his efficient administration and visionary leadership, SSSIE stands as a Sai Samrajyam—a kingdom of values—dedicated to creating ideal Sai students who serve society with integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Message

“Discipline is the hallmark of an intelligent being,” says our beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In today’s world, the education system is largely successful in producing students of remarkable academic brilliance. However, we must pause and reflect—what is the state of discipline and essential life values among the student community? Sadly, we witness a widespread decline in these foundational aspects.

Modern education, though technologically advanced and intellectually stimulating, often leaves students burdened with ego, unchecked desires, and emotional unrest. Degrees and certificates may adorn their profiles, but without values, the mind becomes vulnerable to negativity. The consequences of such a valueless system are evident in the growing presence of unrest, conflict, and moral decay in society.

At Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare (SSSIE), we strive to offer an alternative—a return to the sacred roots of the Gurukula system, where education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but the transformation of character. Here, students are guided by Gurus who not only teach academics but also inspire spiritual practices and inner refinement. The focus is on nurturing the 5 Ds as taught by Bhagawan: Duty, Discipline, Devotion, Discrimination, and Determination.

When a student is immersed in such a value-based system, they do not merely succeed—they evolve. They become compassionate leaders, responsible citizens, and torchbearers of peace and prosperity. Let us continue to walk this sacred path, guided by Bhagawan’s teachings, and build a future where education is not just about learning, but about living with purpose and values.
