Loving Sairam. With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Mahashivaratri was celebrated with deep devotion and fervour at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare, Chromepet on 15th and 16th February 2026. The sacred observance commenced with Lingabhishekam, accompanied by the grand chanting of the Ekadasa Rudra Parayanam at 5:30 pm on 15th Feb. With profound spiritual yearning, students recited the supreme Sri Rudram Vedic Mantra — 11 repetitions of the 11 Anuvakas of Namakam, interwoven with one Anuvaka from Chamakam in sequence. More than 20 traditional materials were reverently offered during the Abhishekam to the Shiva Lingam of SSSIE and Nandi Bhagawan.
Following the continuous chanting of Sri Rudram, students rendered the mellifluous flute recital of “Bho Shambho…” Keerthana at the lotus feet of Bhagawan, followed by the soulful singing of the Lingashtakam. After the Maha Mangala Arathi, Correspondent Sri S. Loganathan praised the students’ energy and sincerity, noting how their chanting filled the entire campus with divine vibrations.
Parents and students then offered sacred Bilva leaves to the Shiva Lingam and received Pada Namaskar from Bhagawan. After partaking of the blessed Maha Shivaratri Prasadam, students continued their devotion through Akhanda Bhajan, keeping vigil throughout the night until 6:30 a.m. the next morning. Each group offered bhajans during their allotted slots, delighting Lord Sai Shiva with their heartfelt singing. The reverberant staff bhajan slot deeply inspired the students further. The Akhanda Bhajan concluded with Mangala Arathi, bringing the blissful celebration to a conclusion.
