Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare, Chromepet, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with vibrant patriotic fervour and immense joy. The outdoor celebrations began with a grand march-past by our spirited students, setting the tone for the day. This was followed by the soulful rendition of the Tamil Thaai Vaazhtthu, invoking reverence for our cultural roots.
The National Flag was then ceremoniously hoisted by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. N. Kannan, District President – Kanchipuram North, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Tamil Nadu. The flag salute was performed with pride and devotion, as students paid homage by singing Thayin Manikkodi Paareer. Their voices echoed love and reverence for Mother Bharath, culminating in the powerful chorus of the National Anthem. The festivities continued indoors at the Ram Sai Hall, beginning with vibrant Veda chanting to invoke divine blessings. Correspondent, Sri S. Loganathan, delivered a warm welcome address, urging everyone to embody the spirit of Independence Day daily and lead a life rooted in values and joy. He introduced the Chief Guest Sri N.Kannan and the Guest of Honour, Sri Velu, Member of Sai Educare Trust and State Disaster Management Team In-Charge, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, TN.
The cultural programme commenced with a captivating fusion music performance titled ‘Jai Ho Bharath’ by the SAI GAANA PRIYA – SSSIE Fine Arts department, blending melody and rhythm in a stirring tribute to the nation. This was followed by an adorable dance performance by the tiny tots of SSSIE, whose innocence and enthusiasm won the hearts of the audience.
The stage then came alive with a graceful and emotionally charged mime-cum-dance performance by Class XI students, beautifully expressing patriotism through movement and music. A soul-stirring vocal performance by our sisters followed, featuring Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s powerful composition ‘Senthamizh Naadenum Podhinile…’, which deeply moved the audience. Next, the girl children of Classes VI, VII, and VIII dazzled the crowd with a vibrant medley of Hindi patriotic songs through a mesmerizing dance performance. The energy soared as students presented a gripping Therukkootthu (Street Play) on the theme ‘Operation Sindhoor’, which captivated the audience and earned thunderous applause.
Following the cultural presentations, Ms. Deepa, Senior Coordinator, introduced the Chief Guest, Sri N. Kannan. In his stirring address, he spoke on the essence of true freedom—rooted in noble thoughts, words, and actions. He attributed the success of ‘Operation Sindhoor’ to the pure intentions and positive vibrations of the students and staff. He emphasized the joy found in selfless service and praised SSSIE as a value-based institution, far removed from commercial motives. With conviction, he expressed his belief that SSSIE students would one day become national and global leaders. Quoting Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, he said, “Gandhi is great because he is good,” and advised everyone to follow the path of goodness at all places.
