The Hostel: Introduction

In the ancient Indian Education, the pupil stayed with the preceptor while learning. The master transformed his wholesome personality and divinised each aspect of his conduct, behaviour and character.

In the residential type of education, the Institution has the maximum time to mould the students and work upon each aspect of their personality, individual traits and social behaviour. The various programmes of integral education can be effected only in a residential system.

The School provides residential Hostel to promote the integral development of body, mind and spirit. The Hostel life encourages several desirable traits in the children like sharing, caring and adjusting to community living and provides more time and scope for moulding the personality and character of the students. The Hostel aids the students to achieve the highest standards of excellence aimed by the value based Sai system of integral education.

• Admission to the Hostel is open only for boys.
• Dormitory type of accommodation is provided with the most hygienic and nutritious food.
• Admission to Hostel is on probationary basis for a period of two months and shall be confirmed only if the student satisfies the disciplinary norms expected by the management.
• A consolidated amount of Rs. 12,000/- per annum is to be paid for each student towards boarding, lodging and establishment charges. The amount may be paid in advance before the commencement of the academic year or in two equal instalments one in the first week of June and the other in the first week of November.
• A refundable caution deposit of Rs, 3,000/- is collected in advance along with the Hostel fees to meet the expenses of the students towards laundry, hair cutting charges, toilet items, medicine, vocational courses, field trips stationery and telephone charge, which need to be reimbursed.
• Starting from the Morning Prayer, several integral programmes are organized for the students of the Hostel. Participation in all the integral activities of the Hostel is compulsory.
• Continuous free medical care shall be provided by the Hostel with the help of dedicated experts in the field.
• The students can immensely benefit from several vocational courses and training offered in the Hostel.
• For the entertainment of the students, outdoor and indoor games, value-based movie shows and field trips will be arranged by the Hostel. Regularity, punctuality, orderliness, sense of adjustment, cooperation, sharing and caring, zeal for service and clean habits shall be promoted by the Hostel and the students are expected to rise up to satisfy the greatest expectations of the system. Any disciplinary violation will be viewed with utmost seriousness.
• Students may visit their families only during Deepavali and Pongal holidays.
• Annual holidays is for about fifty days at the end of the academic year.
• All the needs of the students are met by the Hostel. No student staying in the Hostel is allowed to go out of the School campus for any reason. For genuine reasons, prior permission of the authorities must be obtained.
• Parents / Guardian may visit their children only on first and third Sundays (1PM to 4PM). Students may contact their parents on second and fourth Sundays over phone during specified hours.
• Parents / Guardian should constantly keep in touch with the management to know the progress of their children in academics and Hostel life. The utmost cooperation of the parents with the management in this regard is solicited.
• Admission to Hostel is based on the policies decided by the management from time to time. The management reserves the right to dismiss a student from the Hostel on grounds of non-payment of Hostel fees or disciplinary violations.
• The Hostel shall be a home away from home full of love and care with the divine guidance of Bhagavan Baba.

Features of Hostel Life

Discipline is not forced on the students as a burden, rather, the students are constantly counselled and the importance of discipline is reinforced into their minds by the very atmosphere of the school and through every programme that forms a part of the activity of the School so that the concept of discipline becomes a part and parcel of the students’ consciousness.

The teachers lead the students by example. Love, courtesy, concern, respect and regard for others, sense of cooperation and a zeal for selfless service are echoed within the School campus in every activity that is organised so that the students unconsciously imbibe these values.

On the whole, the Hostel is a temple of learning filled with the divine love and constant guidance of Bhagavan Baba where learning becomes evolving. All the hearts in the Hostel are filled with their love for Bhagavan which makes every activity a small flower of worship, contributing a great deal for the evolution of human consciousness to higher levels of perfection.

Some Important Points for the Parents

Parents cannot meet their children on working days. The parents shall meet their wards in the school on the first and third Sundays of every month between 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The children may contact their parents on second and fourth Sunday over phone on the specially allotted hours.

During their visit to the school, parents cannot take their children outside the campus. Parents are also not allowed to enter the rooms of the students.

The Hostel ensures a good, delicious and nutritious diet to the children. So the parents should not get any eatables and leave them with their children in the Hostel.

Students will be allowed to go home with their parents only during Deepavali, Pongal holidays and Annual Holidays. On unavoidable conditions, a leave application must be submitted and permission must be sought. Parents cannot stay in the campus during nights.

The Hostel cannot be held responsible if the student leaves the campus without the permission of the authorities. Such students will not be admitted to the hostel again.

If contagious and chronic ailments are reported in the students, they shall be dismissed from the hostel. Fees paid for the Hostel will not be refunded if the student leaves or dismissed from the Hostel.

Utmost cooperation is requested from the parents in all regards and in strictly abiding by the rules and regulations of the Hostel so that the Hostel is able to work upon the personality of their children and mould them good and great.

Some Important Points for the Students

Regularity and punctuality in all the integral activities of the Hostel is a must. Timing for food sessions and sleep should be strictly observed.

Students should maintain their cupboards and things neatly.

Absolute silence during prayer sessions, functions and study hours is highly essential.

Students should maintain a cordial and brotherly relationship with their hostel mates. Students must wear simple and neat dress.

Nails should be properly clipped and hair must be maintained clean, short and trim.

Obedience to teachers and staff in-charge is highly expected.

There is no compromise in the issue of discipline. Violation of rules, irregularity, disobedience, indifference to school work shall justify dismissal.

Students are personally responsible for their belongings. They are not required to keep money with them since all their needs will be met within the caution deposit.

Walkman, cameras, video games, playing cards, books and magazines are strictly not allowed in the Hostel.

The students are expected to live in constant awareness that their stay in the Hostel is endowed with a higher and nobler purpose and that it can be achieved only if they strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the Hostel an involve whole-heartedly in all the programmes forming a part of the hostel life
