Accreditation Award Ceremony & Teachers' Day Function

Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Educare, Nemilichery, Chromepet, Chennai – 44 celebrated the Accreditation Award ceremony and the Teachers’ Day Function at the school campus on Sunday, the 7th September 2008 in a grand manner.

Dr. Avvai Natarajan, Former Vice – chancellor, Thamizh University, Thanjavur presided over the function. Smt. Geetha Hariharan lighted the lamp of love. The programmes began with the Veda Chanting by the boys which reverberated the hall. Sri. P. Kumarasamy, Correspondent of the school, welcomed the gathering and Smt. K.Sai Meera, Principal explained the observations made by the Inspection Committee for Accreditation about the school.

The school teachers sang a few verses from the Thirukkural in a fine tune. A parent Rani Mangalam expressed that her children are taught good values which gives immense satisfaction to parents like her in the present restless society. An alumni of the school, Miss. Thulasi thanked the school and its system for moulding her and other students to fine personalities.

Prof. N.Shanmugam, Education Officer (Retd), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Education Advisor of the school showered a lot of accolades on the teachers and reminisced about his own days as a teacher and his association with the veteran Sri. Avinashi Lingam and quoted numerous examples of great teachers.

Sri. M. Boopalan, Member, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Tamilnadu conveyed that even foreign delegates who attended the World Conference conducted recently at Puttaparthi in the Divine Presence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, conveyed that the only solution for the present world problems is the Sai System of Education.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Avvai Natarajan expressed that the world is grateful to the Sai schools as they serve as models of excellence and provide to the children, not mere bread – winning education but one that produces a transformation. He further told that the dedicated and devoted efforts of the teachers and the integrated co-operation of the entire school has yielded the credit to them.

He quoted the great teachers Vasishta and Arnold and acknowledged the high respect that great teachers had received from their students and the society. He enlightened how students revered their teachers quoting eminent personalities like Dr. Ambedkar and Dr. Radhakrishnan.

He explained that among God’s creations, only man grows and improves by finding new things always and that is Education; refining thoughts, giving good surrounding and moulding the character is Educare.

He finally concluded stressing on the need for mass education in India.

The Chief Guest then presented the accreditation certificate with the highest grade, A+ to the School Correspondent. Mementoes were given to the teaching and non-teaching staff. An Educare training for teachers from all Sri Sathya Sai schools in Tamilnadu was organized on 06.09.08 and 07.09.08. The participants of the Educare training programme sang the Valedictory Song with candles in their hands. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice – Principal, Smt. B.Uma. The function ended with the Mangala Aarathi.
