23.11.10 To mark the 85th Birthday celebration of
BHAGAVAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA, SRI SATHYA SAI INSTITUTE OF
EDUCARE, NEMILICHERRY, CHROMEPET arranged for a 6 –DAY PROGRAMME
from 18th Nov 10’ to 23rd NOV 10’ to pay tribute to Bhagavan Sri
Sathya Sai Baba.

18th was a day of Grama Seva. Bhagawan’s photo was taken in a
procession with Veda chanting and Bhajan from the school to
Nanmangalam highlighting the message of Swami “GRAMA SEVA IS
RAMA SEVA . The children of the school followed ceiling on
desire during the Deepavali holidays and contributed the amount
for gramaseva. Swami’s Prasadam in the form of food packets and
laddu (1500) were distributed to the inmates of old-age home and
to all the staff and students of Government High School,
Nanmangalam. Various sports competition were conducted among the
students of Govt High school and prizes were distributed to
those who stood first, second and third. In addition each
student was gifted with a pencil box.
19th November was observed as Mahilas day. The programme
started with prayer by lady teachers and girl students, followed
by a Vilakupooja.
20th November was a day of Laksharchana. The sacret 1008
names of Bhagawan Baba was chanted along with Archana by the
students and staff for world peace and to mark the auspicious
beginning of the birthday celebration of SRI SATHYA SAIBABA.
On 21st November, a procession was organized from Sri Sathya
Sai Seva Samithi, Chromepet to the school. Many cultural
programmes were organized and the school staff and student
participated in it.
On 22nd November, films highlighting the life incidents and
message of Sri Sathya Sai Baba was shown for the students of
SSSIE.
On 23rd November, the prayer hall was beautifully decorated
with the logo of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation drawn in colorful
Rangoli with flower petal. The blessing pose of Swami in the
center of the logo, in white dress and 85 lamps lit around the
logo attracted all and spread the devotional spirit among the
visitors to the school. Swami’s photo was seated in a well
decorated Palanquine was taken to the prayer hall with Veda
chatting and school band. When the procession entered the hall,
students welcomed Swami with welcome song: Swagatham.
The proceedings were covered by a dialogue between two
students acting as Indra and Varuna. The welcome song was
followed by a prayer by the students to light the lamp of wisdom
in them. A cultural programme by the students entertained the
visitors. The celebration came to an end after a prayer and
Arati to Bhagawan with Prasadam distribution.
